(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 22, 2009 ) Gainesville, Fla. — NCCER will host the Project Supervision and Project Management Academy on Sept. 19-25, 2009, at Clemson University, Clemson, S.C.

The academies target construction supervisors and project managers and consist of 60 hours of intense training sessions that provide powerful networking, lectures, case studies, and team-building activities. The academies are led by quality instructors with extensive construction experience and held simultaneously at the outdoor laboratory on Lake Hartwell at Clemson University. The secluded and rustic cabin setting provides the ideal learning environment and fosters a lasting professional bond among participants.

“The quality and real-world knowledge of the instructors was better than any other class or academy that I have attended,” said Richard Nickel, vice president of Carolina Bridge Co. Inc., Orangeburg, S.C. “There was continuous learning and bonding throughout the entire week, even outside of the classroom. We plan to send all of our company project managers and superintendents.”

Both the Project Supervision and Project Management Academy include pertinent topics and problem-solving skills to address day-to-day issues confronted on a construction project. Topics include leadership, time management, scheduling, documentation, and cost control. A complete list of objectives for each academy can be found at the NCCER Web site.

Academy tuition is $2795 and includes lodging, all meals, course materials, transportation, and activities.

All participants can earn industry credentials from the NCCER National Registry and continuing education units upon completion of the academy. In addition, participants can earn credit towards a Master’s Degree in Construction Science and management at Clemson through the Project Management Academy.
