Job Description



The role of the PMO Director is to provide overall leadership for the IES Project Management Organization and has overall, organizational responsibility for the successful planning and implementation of our construction projects and preventative maintenance services (according to strict deadlines and within budget). The PMO Director will develop and manage a team that includes numerous Project Managers, Project Coordinators and other specialized administrative and functional personnel. The PMO Director will plan and coordinate the PM team’s execution of IES' entire portfolio of construction projects, through the effective balance of people, systems and processes. Ability to interact effectively with company employees at all levels, clients at all levels, and the ability to contribute effectively as a member of IES executive management team. Staff to Win: Hire, Develop and Retain a team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators that can effectively manage a wide variety of project types and complexities and consistently deliver their projects on time and on (or under budget). Resource Management: Plan and recruit effectively so that IES will always have a deep-enough bench strength to meet upcoming business needs. Culture Creation: Fostering a winning culture both within the PM department as well as within the company as a whole. Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and subcontractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. Maximize the use of MS Project to optimally meet both internal and external (client driven) objectives. Champion effective use of the PMI / PMP process within IES business environment.



Requirements:



5 Years minimum experience in the construction industry 5 years min. direct work experience in an upper level project management capacity (Sr. PM with multiple PM’s and PC’s under direct command and/or formal PMO Director), including all aspects of process development and execution. 4 year college degree or equivalent PMP Certification (complete). Strong familiarity with project management software, including Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Demonstrated experience in personnel management. Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently. Flexible during times of change.
