The Process Technology Manager is responsible for directing, coordinating and developing all process/procedural activities and equipment specifications for SolarWorld’s world-class Solar Cell Engineering department.   In addition, the Process Technology Manager will be responsible for coordinating activities of engineers assigned to each unit and among other departments, vendors and SolarWorld companies. This position ensures adequate tool, process and personnel capabilities are continuously developed and maintained for a highly efficient and functional system supporting a high volume 24/7 manufacturing operation.

As leader of the process technology team, this position selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure optimum manufacturing efficiencies to accomplish business objectives.

Requirements:

This position is ideal for a seasoned Technology expert with prior leadership role(s). The ideal candidate relishes the challenge of a startup environment and is a proactive problem-solver with project and program leadership capability. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant science. Preference for PhD in SolarPV or related discipline (e.g., Materials Science).
• Must possess a minimum of 8 years of direct Engineering experience with 4 years of process technology leadership experience in a solar cell manufacturing environment.
• Experience with yield, cost, and capacity management.
• Strong analytical skills required. This includes experience with standard quality tools such as DOE, SPC, FMEA, and Process Mapping. Use of analytical software packages such as JMP, Minitab or Statistica is required.
• Expertise in recognized a structured problem solving methodology.
• Preference for formal training and certification in project/program management tools.
• Experience with change control is required.
• Experience leading task forces.
• Familiarity with ISO or similar quality systems is preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the understanding and application of leadership principles and supervisory tools for the efficient management of direct and indirect employees. This includes performance management, people & team development.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence partners. Successful track record of matrix management.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve objectives by working in and with cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.
• Preference for entrepreneurial drive and prior experience within dynamic, fast-paced, start-up companies or new business division launches.
• Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to work under time constraints and be flexible in regards to work hours.
• Must possess valid driver’s license, valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
