Good post. I always try to do two things day to day in relation to project leadership:
- Encourage the team to work together to come up with the delivery plan. This way it's their plan and they feel the responsibility to deliver it
- Whatever level you're taking at within the team always communicate the wider aim of what the project is trying to achieve - this way everyone knows where we're going and is more likely to make the right decisions

When we were looking for PM software our criteria were:
- web-based tool cause we work with freelancers
- compatible with ms office
- easy to use
- reasonable price
Been using @task for a while, then found wrike.com. It matches all our criteria and user support is always very helpful.

Also, excessive reliance on the tool tends to discount the importance of the “art” part of the project management.
It also makes it much easier to recommend these types of solutions to smaller startups that I consult with when cost is always a big consideration.
its users support and helpful.

Check out Comindware Project (http://www.comindware.com/project/)
As for the main features, in total they will be similar to Trello and Asana and in some cases Comindware Project has even better options.
